Planet B.io believes in the circular economy, and therefore has renovated a DSM-Firmenich building instead of demolishing it.

The Kluyver Center, formerly the Food Innovation Center of DSM-Firmenich, provides fully food-grade laboratories ideal for food application testing and product development.But also not-food related companies are welcome in the building.

Rent your own dedicated space and gain access to specialized facilities, including:

  • Tasting Room: Conduct sensory research with professional tasting panels under controlled lighting conditions.
  • Bakery: Develop and test bread, cakes, and cookies with enhanced texture, rising properties, shelf-life, and nutritional benefits.
  • Cheese Lab: From Gouda to Mozzarella – refine starter cultures, optimize coagulants, and study fermentation, aging, and melting behavior.

The ML1 labs on the first floor vary in size, ranging from approx. 15 m² to 300 m² (see the floorplan). All labs are equipped with basic lab furniture, fumehoods, and climate control.

The offices on the ground floor approx. 400 m² and on the first floor 100 m², 230 m² and 500 m² can be divided in smaller units. Tenants have the option to customize the space according to their preferences.
